| Beskrivelse | Staff Sarg then 2nd Liet. in World War II. He was a Flight Engineer on a B-24 Bomber, 491st Bomb Group, Army Air Corp. He was shot down over Hanover, Germany, & severely Wounded in the stomach on 26 Aug. 1944. He survived because a farm family took him in & nursed him back to health before he was captured & sent to a hospital. He survived as a POW for 10 months. Only 3 of his crew of 12 made it out alive. |
